The cyber industry continues to grow exponentially with global cybercrime losses predicted to reach $10.5 trillion annually by 2025. This means the door is wide open for innovation and for industry professionals to make an impact, and when it comes to recognizing the best and brightest making bold moves in cyber, Zywave’s Cyber Risk Awards takes the crown.
Winners are nominated and voted on by their peers, which means taking home an award is a true honor.
“These awards, determined by a democratic ‘People’s Choice’ voting process, reflect the respect and admiration that industry professionals have for the accomplishments of their colleagues,” explains Jeff Cohen, Zywave senior vice president.
This year, the awards honored five individuals and twelve companies for their contributions to the cyber industry.

How Are Cyber Risk Awards Winners Chosen?
Zywave’s Cyber Risk Awards follow a completely democratic process. Other industry awards cater to advertisers and sponsors, but winners of the Cyber Risk Awards are chosen exclusively by their peers through a process that leverages Zywave’s database of more than 40,000 insurance professionals.
It starts with open nominations. Anyone can be nominated for an award, and entries are based on performance initiatives from the previous year. Each nomination is accompanied by a brief supporting explanation.
Zywave’s editorial team reviews the nominations and narrows the submissions down to a slate of finalists. Once the finalists are announced, campaigning begins as companies and individuals partake in friendly competition to earn the most votes.
There’s a reason these awards are affectionately known as Cyber Prom. Campaigning for the crown in each category is creative, fierce, and a highlight of the cyber industry each year.
The campaigning and voting period lasts several weeks and culminates in a prestigious black-tie gala dinner held in New York City where the winners are announced. Not only is this a chance for the stars of cyber to be recognized for their efforts, but it’s the leading networking event on the cyber risk social calendar.
Along with the Cyber Risk Awards, Zywave hosts numerous thought leadership events throughout the year including the Cyber Risk Insights Conference – NYC, Cyber Risk Insights Conference – London, Casualty Insights Conference, Property Insights Conference, and a new upcoming Digital Distribution Insights Conference.
