Blogging for October Should NEVER Be Scary!

Sure, the month of October is supposed to be spooky and scary with Halloween on its way, but that does not mean it must apply to your insurance marketing strategy! We understand that many agency owners are timid when it comes to blogging on their Virtual Insurance Office, but this should never be the case. Blogging will not only draw traffic to your website, but keep contest fresh—which the search engines LOVE!

Instead of fretting about putting together a blogging editorial calendar, us Insurance Bloggers have 10 topics for you—right here!

#1: October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Take this opportunity to support the cause by sharing facts, figures, prevention methods, stories, and more. This could tie in perfectly with a health insurance policy, too.

#2: The first week of October is Customer Service Week. Take a moment to put your OWN agency in the blog post spotlight! We know that you take great pride in your customer service skills, so take this time to showcase them.

#3: Local post alert! Find out where there will be apple picking in your area and write up a post! You can get creative by offering apple-inspired recipes, too.

#4: Halloween is right around the corner! There are plenty of Halloween-inspired posts to write, from the healthiest Halloween snacks to child-proofing your yard for Halloween visitors (liability suit, anyone?) You may even take this post a step further by sharing tips for families who create their OWN haunted homes on their property.

#5: October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. Many of your viewers may be considering to celebrate this observance by adopting. This is a great chance to share a few tips with first-time dog owners, and possibly discuss the need for animal liability insurance.

#6: The second week of October is Fire Prevention Week. This is a great topic that could be related to home insurance. You may also want to note that having a fire alarm or other safety devices in a home will result in a discount. Viewers love to hear about savings!

#7: Looking for a fun fall-inspired post? With the changing of the leaves, you may want to get a little creative and share a few fun homemade crafts that can be made—from painted leaves to scarecrow fun.

#8: Sticking with the scary theme? For a business insurance related post, you may want to lay out a few “scary scenarios” that could arise if there is no coverage in place.

#9: Carving a pumpkin this season? Share safety tips to avoid liability incidents or accidents.

#10: Sticking with the topic of Halloween… How about another local post? Find out what festivities are going on in your area and promote!

Are you ready to write away the month of October? Get started and let us know how it goes!

As always, please share any ideas you may have. We love to hear from you!
